Every now and then, you find a maker who changes your whole world as a crafter. This happened today. Demi Thomloudis is architecturally inspired, examining the relationships between materials, connections, scale and how when filtered through a jewellery perspective; these buildings relate to the body. I love and identify with all of these motivations. Ah- gosh! Her compositions, especially with the 'reconstruct' collection, are absoultely lovely. She reveals layers (as seen in deconstructed buldings) from certain viewing aspects of her work. The playfulness of the necessary interaction of her work really exites me. I also love the linear qualities of her work; and the textures, colours and materias used.
